Left School, 6 months YOP with the REME in Pennypot, Harrogate.

8 Years Driving Buses and Coaches (on and off)

12 years involved with a variety of jobs in the IT industry including a stint self employed

Finaly bit the bullet Jan 06 for a life on the road and earn more now that I ever did wielding a multimeter and a screwdriver.

Left school in 1986 with lots of ‘O’ Levels and two ‘A’ Levels. Didn’t really know what I wanted to do but good with computers so drifted into IT.
1992 Fed up with IT so took a fortnight off to get C+E, returned to office knowing I’d be out soon…but soon found out that nobody would give me a job without experience and I was too fussy to give up my office job and be a van driver to work my way up. Managed to get a few bits and pieces of work locally for a while but not enough to pay the rent so gave up and stayed where I was.
1996 kept the craving under control by getting into the vintage lorry scene
2006 A risk of redundancy at the time a neighbour was setting up an agency. He asked if i fancied doing the odd bit of weekend work and it seemed like a good idea so arranged a few hours refresher training with a local firm to drag me into the 21st century and have been doing it part time since. Application for voluntary redundancy was turned down but I reckon there’s more round the corner so will hang out for it for now with a view to driving full time when it comes!
