Not having any experience of ‘bendy ones’ and how they work - why is his trailer liftaxle up (suggesting he’s empty), yet his unit liftaxle is down (suggesting loaded)?

Can’t answer why the axle on the unit is down hammer.I would think he is empty,having tipped at Moreton On Lugg where tarmac have a railway siding.Most of the South Wales artic boys are hauling from the Gore down to there a lot of the time.
