This was a rare thing,we were going along taking pics on the A49 north of Church Stretton,when along came this old Leyland artic,a true gem.

the photo of the leyland was a very familiar sight on that road in particular many years ago,when i was with my uncle instead of in school that road was never ending when he used to deliver aberdare cables and south wales switchgear transformers all over the north west, manweb was i think the customer,

Like yourself used to see a lot of these on the roads when I was a boy,riding with my Dad up and down to Avonmouth on the A38,pre M5 and Severn Bridge,also going down to Cardiff and Barry Docks via Newport in those days in the late 50’s early 60’s,magic times looking back,the lorries looked big then,but up against the vehicles of today,such as yours they were quite small.What they lacked in size,they made up in character.
