That’s not a long day wait until you work 15 hours

Or a 20 ! (Double manned)

21 :grimacing:

No mine was definitely a 20. Another pair of drivers got stuck with a 21 though. :frowning:

Thanks very much daftvader and tazbug apprecate your help guys

Strongly suggest you don’t take or listen to ‘daftvader’ advice or you’ll be getting some serious infringements !!

Have a look on official government sites if your unsure of 15hr days, reduced daily breaks etc as most of the advice you’ve just been given is incorrect.

Care to explain to me whats wrong with what I’ve written then?.

daftvader:
You can do 3 15hr days a week and to 13s.This includes all your driving and breaks poa.Within the time allowed.

I think this is what Boo9729 may be referring too, 3 X 15 hour days & 2X 13 hour days =71 hours a week which does’nt comply with the WTD regulations of 60 hours a week or 48 hours over a 17 week reference period.

There is nothing wrong with what Daftvadar has said. You can do 3 x 15’s and 2 x 13’s between weekly rests. Yes, it adds up to 71 hours but this is total SHIFT time which is different to total WORKING time. For example, It’s quite plausible to do only 8 hours working time in a 15 hour day, especially if you’re sat on POA for hours on end waiting for a wagon or to go on to a bay.

Yes, I agree with what your saying but there are also scenarios where you can’t be doing those sort of hours and stay within the law, eg, hours of loading/unloading by hand then 9/10 hour drives.

There are to many variables to say catagoricley this is right or wrong

The problem is there are too many drivers out there that think total Shift Time is the same as Working Time.

In the right circumstances you can do six 15s between weekly rests.

Hell what do I know anyway.Only been driving 24yrs.And rarely get an infringement. But don’t listen to me.lol

No … you can do 6 in a fixed week in the right circumstances but not between weekly rests

Not sure what you’re trying to say. My understanding of GV262 is that you must start a weekly rest period no later than 144 hours after the start of your weekly work and that it doesn’t matter when or where it starts. Unless I’ve misinterpreted something.

Weekly rest periods
A driver must start a weekly rest period no later than at the end of six consecutive 24-hour periods from the end of the last weekly rest period.

Note: An actual working week starts at the end of a weekly rest period, and finishes when another weekly rest period is commenced, which may mean that weekly rest is taken in the middle of a fixed (Monday—Sunday) week. This is perfectly acceptable — the working week is not required to be aligned with the ‘fixed’ week defined in the rules, provided all the relevant limits are complied with.

You can do six 15 hour spread-overs between weekly rest periods.

  1. Three reduced daily rest periods plus three split daily rest periods.
  2. Six split daily rest periods.
  3. Any combination of the above that does not include more than three reduced daily rest periods.
