Night Owl:
Hi GoodieThanks for that, back to the drawing board
Certain Westcan Bulk terminals will allow you to do “daywork” only on the quiet and RJ Hoffmans will take you on as an oil tanker driver working the oilsands around Lloydminster Alberta, 12/14 hour shift daywork only on a good hourly rate plus OT but your “contract” is like an agency driver here I.E. no work no pay

Thanks Big Truck plenty to read there, looks like its going to be put on hold for a while as the wife is pregnant and she thinks it may be a bit much to deal with all in one go. plan b is move to wales, bet she wont go for that either
By the way, robk, I found the post elsewhere in which you stated you passed your class 1 in 2002. I said a few years and I was right, wasn’t I?
Thanks for the medal. I am, after all, deserving of an accolade from such as you.
Hi Guys just wanted to throw in my views on the canadian emigration issue.Firstly please focus on wider issues these companies whether good or bad are offering you sponsorship to emigrate this is a very significant thing.I emigrated from the uk in 1977 no job waiting for me I was in my mid 20 s,single and for six months lived on my life savings with no government help not qualified for unemployment or welfare my savings depleted very quickly I survived by living in the YMCA at around $7 a day and picking up casual work. The first minus 30c winter in Edmonton was the lowest part of my life. However my point is that these companies are allowing you to avoid what I and thousands of others went through.I now haul fuel in Calgary and work closely with a lot of recenty emigrated british drivers who haul for westcan in Calgary many who seem to be in Canada like me for the long haul. You are being offered a good opportunity Wayne Robinson
