Very happy in manitoba

hi njb

well i just got my landed status now and of course got a better job.

njb1962:
Theres more than 1 happy Brit in Manitoba,
I.

Pleased to hear it NJB, always nice to see a fellow satisfied immigrant but

moved over in February 07 with the wife and daughter and have absolutley no regrets in fact the only way i intend to move back to the UK is in a coffin.

why on earth would you want to do that? Furthest I’ll be moving on that fateful day is just down the hill - plot’s already booked. :open_mouth: :unamused:

heck, I’d still be there if I’d had more money and signed on with a better company.

I want to go back, and in a couple years, I hope to do so.
Canada is a great country, and driving there has just spoiled me… a 10 minute delay on the Winnipeg ring road is considered worthy of mentioning on the radio.
Whereas here, it needs to be 30 mins to be worth bothering with.
Pretty sure I made one of those traffic reports in the Peg, when a red line blew out on me pulling a trailer across an intersection near McGillivray, right across the intersection, blocking every single darned lane
I was out of there in a couple mins tho… revved it to heck and back and limped back to the yard.

On the lights at MacGillveray??

Oh my!!

Now had you dropped it in the ditch on the junction, I would have really laughed!

BTW, my boy thinks your naming of the Manitoba Ditch Divers club is priceless!!

Where’ve you been, anyway?

opps couldnt do it at a better place? lol
leave the ditch driving to the dog

i want to be in the ditch drivers club, do pick up trucks count? if so i should be ok. did get the rear trailer of the super b in the ditch a couple of times on the back roads in and out of farms or a four way but pulled itself out! trick is not to look in the mirror and try to keep the drives on a fresh bit of ice or snow and not the glazed stuff.
glad to hear you wanna come back alikat, did see you a couple of times but i was always on the phone so couldn’t shout ya on cb.
bob we gonna meet up soon, now good weather is here! pm me with your phone number and we will come down to grunthall, sure my boy will get on with yours, how old is he, mine is 9
steve

Only ever dropped one thing in a ditch… a 100,000lb loaded 53 foot trailer’s tandems… Out in the wilds of ND, on farm work, on a quiet as all heck road. I pulled it out myself, the ditch wasn’t steep at all.
