Well, it seemed that the trip with that digger to the south of France was the last trip indeed for the old girl…so here are some pic’s of the “new” old steed
Nice pics there again Patric! But hmm thats an midlift,i cant stand them at al. Rear tag or doubbeldrive is the way you go What happend to the "old"girl then?
Aye, I would choose a double drive as well, I’m pulling just about the same weights with this lorry, mind you, that’s without hub reduction as well…
The wheel bearing of the old girl gave way, seemed that the axle was damaged too, so with more then 1.1 million clicks on the speedo, the decision was made to not repair her…and they gave me this “new” one, plan was already to replace it with this unit, just happened a bit sooner then expected.
But to be honest, it’s quite a proper wagon, used to be the proud of a owner/driver that hauled for Holtrop, not sure what happended to him, but the tractor unit did end up in the v.d. Vlist fleet…obviously

Ta for posting, I can imagine it brought back sweet memories for your uncle driving that FTF eh
Aye, quite a impressive unit that Autocar, but still prefer a Scammell or FTF though…
Cheers, Patrick
From the past few weeks…
Still in service after a mere 30 years…

It’s wearing me out mate, you’ve got no idea…
Aye, that’s a demolition boom for a EC480, nicely spotted. This one was a bit longer though then the ones I usually load, in folded position that is…the “normal” ones are mostly 9m long, this one however was 12m long…
