Some years ago I was talking to an old mate of mine Steve Nickolson (who was an old middle east hand) and I asked him “are UZUN ARAC the biggest haulire in Turkey cos you see loads of their trucks over hear”!!! He stopped laughing after about 10 minutes!!! :blush:

The mention of eggs reminds me of trying to buy some in Turkey once. Not knowing the name for them in turkish, I went into this fantastic act of flapping my elbows and clucking, followed by gesturing something coming out of my backside. The shopkeeper looked at me in total awe and it attracted a bit of an audience. They kept picking up items and showing me. “No, that’s not what I want”. I kept going through my ‘routine’ and eventually the shopkeeper came out holding an egg. “EVET” I shouted. “ah! yumata” he said.
I don’t know many words in turkish but that one has always stuck in my memory.
