Hi mate, if your that tempted to do it just go, after all you can always come back. Thats what I thought when I decided to come to oz! I no thats easy for me to say not having kids etc… but you know what I’m getting at, life isnt a dress rehearsel after all…
PS If you dont recognise the username I used to be uvox82 and at Deben when you were although out of Felixstowe.
Take it easy.
Great read too nianiamh, thanks for the write ups.
Cracking post yet again, I’m glad you are enjoying your new job, thankyou for giving us this insight into life beyond this Island.
I love these Diaries from afar, find them interesting and definitely makes me think about trying it. No pun intended here but those Pete’s do look well built. Keep up the good work Neal.
Excellent pics and a really good insight, thanks, three things that worry me though 1 no kebab vans 2 no chicken tikka biryany with a madras masala sauce 3 no millenium stadium (where we get to make monkeys of the english).

We have kebabs here, and they are far nicer than the greasy half cooked, kept warm in bain marie crap we got back in the UK. Here they double cook the meat, and its spiced beef, not lamb or whatever meat they could find going cheap that week lol. The meat is cooked on the spit in the traditional british way, but they then cook it on the grill, to make sure any bacteria has been killed off. which is something that they should be doing in the uk, but it very rarely happens.

Im sure you can find somewhere that does chicken tikka biryany with a madras masala sauce. There are plenty of Indians here, and plenty of Indian restaurants.

You dont need a Millenium stadium

Unless it has improved recently, that forum was worse than being in the middle of a cat fight.
I am still a member but no longer visit due to all the slagging off that went on.
If you decide to visit, take care.
Here is the Alberta government website with the information on hours, weights etc. Other provinces will be similar, search for driving regulations in the particular province you want to live in.
