I just love how they have put an out of towners tax on people travelling to Chessington world of adventures and Harefield Hospital, 2 little islands of ULEZ And this is all about air quality not revenue? yeah right.
OK, so Chessington is a leisure facility so dont really need to go. Charging people who aren’t fit enough to walk/use public transport to get to one of the premier heart hospitals in the country is a travesty.
Wouldn’t mind so much if the public transport links were anywhere near decent and affordable but instead of an hour and 20 car journey from my house to Chessington its over 3 hours with 3 trains and 2 buses.
Harefield is even worse, hour and 15 car, 3hrs with 2 buses and 4 train/underground
As opposed to Chessington in Surrey and Harefield in Middlesex. As they were before the Tories handed them over to London and with it Livingstone and now Kahn.

“My own car is currently ULEZ compliant, but will no longer be so a year from now.”
:
How does that work? A car is compliant, if when new it met the relevant Euro standard. It can’t expire.
There actually was a stated plan by Kahn to make it a rolling threshold.
The idea was dropped ( for now ) but obviously no guarantees and many people don’t know.

Do you have a source? With all the recent articles I am having trouble finding something relevant.

If so, chances are it will be a few years off.
According to this the diesel threshold at least for ULEZ will increase from Euro 6 to Euro 7 from 2025.It also says nothing about the rumours that it’s been abandoned.

Age of Vehicle dear boy… Vehicles over a certain age (as defined by plate registration, and easily ascertained by APNR) are NOT compliant, because they are pre-Euro standard. My last two cars before the one I had now - were both non-compliant, but to my surprise my current 05 plate - is. I was as surprised as anyone, as I previously thought that “older than 15 plate” were the ones non-compliant, but perhaps that was talking about Commercial vehicles/Diesel Vehicles?
Next year my current vehicle is 18 years old, at which point (I am told by local council members) it will no longer be legal to drive it inside the M25 pretty much…
I’m hoping I won’t be getting work assignments in the expanded ULEZ zone in due course…
Places like Bronze Age Way/Manor Road A206 yards I was thinking…

Winseer, What I meant is my civic duty is not to provide any footage to allow identification.
As for the HGV ban cams, just tell people they are ULEZ cameras, seemples.
I wonder if there’s such a think as a “Citizen who doesn’t know the difference”, looking at the highly-organized way these “protestors” seem to magically turn up at anything “Anti Right Wing”, but never seem to turn up for the general public interest stuff like ULEZ cameras that affect the poor disproportiontely compared to the Rich who can just buy a newer, or electric car?
Wots gonna happen in 2030 when we’re ALL expected to buy a new Electric car?
…Buggered if I can afford one, not that they last even half the time of a normal fossil fuel motor…
■■■■-poor value there, methinks…
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d be buying a Classic Rolls, like a Silver Shadow, not a Kia Hybrid FFS…

motorway.co.uk/sell-my-car/guid … -expansion

I think you misread that, it means the EU will ratify a new standard, not that it will become the requirement to avoid ULEZ

Personally, I don’t worry about 2030, as we’ve got 2029 to get through first…
Futures might not be set yet, but alternatives seem elusive for the time being…
Either we get a Deep State future of Damnation, or we overthrow it all whilst there’s still time - by uniting behind those who oppose deep state types already.
Who really wants to detriment their lives to achieve “net zero carbon” anyways?
It’s a real “Emporor’s New Clothes” New-Age Relgion aimed at those with no prior faith.
yet you can drive a Lamborghini Countach or Lamborghini Aventador in the ULEZ no problem… but my grandmother’s 25 year old Nissian Micra? … gotta throw a charge on that lol.
This is the type of crap that has me worried about a Starmer government… It will be hard to outdo the tories with how bad they have done… but I think Starmer will do his best to try.
It doesn’t matter how bad the tories are, a labour government would always be worse

Nobody has mentioned that air pollution contributes to the deaths of 4000 people in London every year so something must be done about that
Because as with so much of Khans crap,it isn’t true?
Imperial college modelling again, notoriously unreliable, actually one death, and that’s questionable

If it was true then the death rates caused by respiratory issues, during all those years of coal fired heating, and power stations and steam and diesel trains and open exhaust road diesel and petrol engines, that my generation and our parents’ generation grew up in would have been off the scale.
As opposed to the obviously background radiation level caused cancer epidemic.Which the control freak nuke fuelled utopia will make much worse.
