Tv in cab question

stuh:
I use my ipad.

Park up connect personal hotspot to my phone and job done.

Less hassle than setting a tv up and i’ve got sky, netflix and BT sports.

No need for a invertor.

Mine has no need for internet either :grimacing:

Most cabs have an inner lining you should be able to mount a tv to

Size TV depends if and where you gonna mount it or just keep it on spare bunk. As for inverter I use a 1500w that’s big enough for microwave or coffee machine or TV ps3 etc

Can you mount the tv on one of the sides of the cab. If so how do you do it as surely you will go through the sides

When I was at TDW a few of the guys has em mounted above the passenger door. There was a CB place up near Caerphilly that used to mount em

You could just get a laptop tablet or a kindle you can almost watch tv on anything these days or you could go to the pub get full start a fight get put out of the pub go back to your cab before the police find you and sleep :grimacing:

I had a 20" TV/DVD which I ran off my 300w inverter as most flat screen LED or LCD TV’s use hardly any power at all.I ran my Status aerial off the 12v socket in the cab.

In the Daf I had I put 2 one inch bolts in the mounting holes in the back of the tv,put a cable tie round them to form a loop and then 2 separate ties on each bolt behind the cable tie loop to make 2 separate loops off of the screws, then I just hung it off the coat hook on the bunk,it never fell off and was easy to take off at the end of the week and no drilling through the company’s panels on the truck.

I’ve got a tablet with Internet which is ideal for day work being an 8 inch one, but overnight id rather hook it up to a telly using a hdmi cable for flims and Web pages using a blue tooth keyboard.

Not a fighting man lol

I like the idea of the cable ties ill have to try that aswell.

That’s the place couldn’t remember the name. Sad news there been a few years since been up that way

Get a K4 3D plasma, 84 inch Samsung John Lewis Oxford Street London, £6000, that should do you !!

On the subject, i have a t/v with built in dvd player, its a mains and 24v, its colour, and will take up to 35v off the battery. I used to use this, and its sitting in my garage, charity shops wont take it, nor cash converters, so if anyone is interested, its Free to collect or i can meet around the Chatham area, the only problem is the lead for the 24v is missing/lost, but shouldnt be a problem, the make i believe is Thomson, and its all in working order.

I dont know how you can get digital stations except to buy a digibox ( its also got freeview for free ) for around £20. so if anyone can use it please contact me or i will have to bin it.

It was good when it worked but the signal became patchy, then after a couple of months it just stopped working, I just get dvd box sets and download a ruck of movies to keep on the laptop now. I do a lot more nights out now but still not tempted to get a tv. Love my kindle though

I need to get one i think and maybe an upgrade on the antenna… I parked up at 4:30 one night this week at Purdy Lodge and was bored Sh@#less by 7:00… I can only read so much.

I will keep looking… anyone use something similar on there laptops… or any ideas please.

You young 'uns don’t know you’re alive. What’s wrong with an old copy of a Razzle found under the bunk…?

It’s the stuck together pages that put me off

Never bother with a tv… my old laptop and a 500gb harddrive filled with fillums and tv shows keeps me going …
