Two vosa blokes came to see the access and parking avaliable, then got to asking whether i had separate business accounts for some cattle that i said were a hobby smiling assasins they looked like, one was a right clever so and so, has rather put me off the whole thing.

Do you think those eastern block drivers are paying £30+ per night at clacket lane?
Or have they increased the price for uk trucks because they aren’t paying anything at all, and they have very little chance of getting any penaltys off them!Nope i have seen taliban trucks that have been clamped if not paid and its about time. Saw one at Reading the other month and also one at Maidstone
Was it the MSA who clamped them or VOSA? Seen a few clamps applied by VOSA over the years but never heard of an MSA applying them.
You can park outside your drop or collection point for free, most of them are near amenities. No real need to pay £20+ unless you are demented
I havent parked in a MSA since about 1993, plenty of alternatives about if you look for them.
Although i now do a lot of farmwork with a bulker.
I will often park in a quiet corner of a farm (with farmers permission obviously, just in case Im offered dinner or breakfast ) failing that many of the unclassified roads have good sized laybys. Admittedly it would be difficult finding them with a curtainsider on.Plus you dont have to worry about the curtain being slashed with a bulker
I realise not everyone gets parking paid, but I know a West Midlands truckstop that charges £10. It says £12.50 on the ticket and includes your evening meal.
This is the sort of encouragement drivers need to park at such places.

You don’t know who else is reading this - there might be company spies in the camp!

I think was the MSA as the one in Maidstone was parked in the coach park lol

I have seen two French trucks clamped in the coach park at Maidstone. I’ve also seen Romanian trucks imobilised with green wire at Toddington and Watford Gap. The two drivers at Toddington were busy mending their disabled truck so that makes me think the imobilsing wire belonged to VOSA.
If you think that the company who runs the ANPR system for our MSAs (Eurocarparks? Can’t remember the proper name) runs the toll system around Oslo it shouldn’t be to difficult to collect the parking fee from our foriegn friends? Or maybe their bosses just whizz the parking invoices when they get them?
