More from then.
Now then Paul how come the sun wasn’t shining in the picture of the ex McBurney Scania Soytrans. I had just been thinking the sun can never stop shining over there. Eddie.
PS great photos thanks for sharing them.
Hi Eddie,
It was the only day that we had cloud I think. We had a cold day in December 2013 it was the 12th it went down to 4c all day long with a strong wind from Turkey, next day normal service resumed.lol
Now them last 2 photos look like the Ayrshire coast on a wild day. That would put paid to the shorts and Tshirts. Eddie.
Don’t you wear those all the time in Scotland anyway? or a kilt at least, lol
No I don’t like them kilt/skirt things or shorts either I prefer TROOSERS. When I said about the shorts and T shirt I was meaning you with the bad weather. Eddie.
Yeah obviously, I sound like a Cypriot now, don’t wear shorts 'till the 15th of this month, don’t go swimming 'till the 15th of that month, don’t go swimming after the 15th of another month, you can get sick from all sorts of things here you never even dreamt of in Great Britain, lol
The truck is a Turkish built Leyland which figures in Northern Cyprus. Here is a photo of one in Turkey. Some also had Austin and Morris names. The cab is the sort of thing we could knock up in the back garden with a metal folder. All flat panels and sharp corners.
Cheers Phil.
Thanks for the info,I guessed it might be Turkish or something made for export,I have not seen one here before, maybe because they are all left hand drive, we drive on the left here. The styling is of a brick or a shed.
Hello Paul! Brilliant to have a pint with you at Gaydon and catch up on the news. Here’s another pic I took in North Cyprus - Girne, I think - that I didn’t post earlier. Robert
Hi Robert,
Sorry for the late reply, yes it was good to catch up at Gaydon. Your picture above was taken in the old part of Famagusta, not Girne. When you visit the old walled part, it looks right over the port area. I see Xmas has arrived again, the local council workers put up the Xmas tree, and had a few decorations left over. So what are you going to do with them ? answer; hang them from the olive tree.
