remember colin i cant remember his surname he worked for james and hodder for years and the last time i saw him was when he was working for ralph davis from cheltenham he was a very good friend of mine .
after leaving james and hodder i had my own truck for several years running to spain on truck line ferries and also out of Southampton i did this for several years some time ago now i am retired now and i am getting on
for i am 68 years old and i will always remember the good old days of using truck line ferries regards stewart

This Brings back happy memories of when i used Truckline ferries out of poole for years and i was working for james and hodder from avonmouth bristol
at the time and when i left there i moved up north to Durham and then worked for Dorothy bowman running to Spain and she was puling for mac Andrews and that was for a few years and after that i had my own truck a Volvo F10 running to Spain for several years .
i am retired now and on a pension and i am 68 now and miss my driving and all i can do now is remember the good old days regards stewart

I think truck ferry designers are a special breed. They still design boats to take trucks with no mirrors, and think drivers don’t need to exit the cabs. We may all be slim, and athletically built but do need a little more room please.

True. On one occasion I had to climb out through my roof-hatch and scale the wall using seamens ladders to get to the drivers’ restaurant and my berth. Otherwise I’d have spent the weekend imprisoned in Stalag Iveco! Robert
Interesting photos Dean, but everyone today seems to say its foreign hauliers taking all the work I can’t spot any UK trucks in those photos of yesteryear.
