Great selection of stickers there Mark. You’ve got a “mint” GB sticker too Someone will pay a handsome price for that…ask Chalky?
You should start a new “sticker” thread. Reckon you’ll get loads more. Nice one. I could see myself getting stuck on that one
hello ash
stuck on that one very nice have plenty more ash but a lot of them are on a old leather folder i have and a plastic folder i used to keep. thats why the scans are not so good.

nice to read all the chat lads. bringin back a few good memories for me.
time to put a few more pics on then:
heres one for you Ian, Promotor F12 with a South African driver, if I remember correctly, his name was George.
Heres the Hercock roadtrain “Roman” in his F12
and how many of you knew Hercocks did a bit of heavy haulage?
this is how Hercocks ended up for those who didnt recognise the Derby and White name
Leggetts was another regular i used to see. Was amusing to see the Volvo F12’s and f89’s “waiting” for the SLACK ATKI’s to catch up!
dont know where this was taken, reckon it was somewhere in Swiss.
Anyone have a clue?
and now a few more to jog yer memories…
who remembers FERRY FRIGHTNING ?
Swains with a French reg 111 and Martintrux, night shot at Dover
Early David Croome F12 especially for JJ72. Croomy had a Mack, ill have to sort that 1 out and post it if anyones interested?
and finally one of my favorite outfits, PATRICKS. They always had top o the range kit. This F88 wagon and drag is a cracker!
now owned by Rogers who have also recently taken KENTVALE over as well.
so, am i putting too many photos on here? Do you guys want to see more?
Or should I be thinking about a book…[/b]
The guy with the Pro-Motor Volvo was George Fardell. He was Rhodesion, but had served in the Rhodesian and South African armed services. George was, in fact, a millionaire and lived in Dawlish, in Devon. He loved truck driving, particularly Middle East and had joined Pro’s when they were heavily engaged in Middle East work. It was a gigantic hobby, for him, as he did not need the money. Unfortunately, George was more of a truck aimer than truck driver and on one famous occassion managed to put his truck, on it’s side, on the Ho Chi Minn trail, in Austria.

Hi Tricky Micky T, I seem to remember George telling me that he was Rhodesian and that he had served in the B.S.A.P. (The British South African Police) which was the Rhodesian Police Force in the 60’s and 70’s. If you remember that knife that he often carried on his belt you could tell that it wasn’t the type that you can buy from any camping shop in the U.K.
There were some good lads on for ProMotors, do you remember another ProMotor driver called Graham Bartram who I always got on with very well ?.
B.T.W. this wouldn’t be you would it Mick if so do you remember my old mate Ken Singleton ? he must of been in his sixties when this was taken.
Regards Steve.

I used to load groupage at their place in Dagenham back in the late 80’s for Gondrand Colmar.

Hullo Ross,
Where was their place in Dagenham then ? When I did work for them, about the same time as you mention, we always used to always tip or load a Fox’s Farm. Do you not remember Shove it on Ron with the forklift ?
Cheers, Archie.
I vaguely remember loading groupage down that way, somewhere off the old A13. Wasn’t Dagenham though, was further out, somewhere near the Circus Tavern.
