Got my Phillips off Fleabay, £8 cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Only found 2014 version but good enough for me, not that many new bridges get built I suppose so will do for now
2014 is the current version anyway. But the (potential) issue is not so much the new bridges, it’s the existing ones that get re-classified when they resurface the roads, taking a few inches off the headroom…
Your probably right, but you’d think they would resurface to same height to avoid all the extra cost of resigning approach roads and reclassification notices. Surely cheaper to scrape road down a few more inches when ripping up old one
Plus by time the map producers get the information, verify it, it might be ready for print in the following years edition or even 2 yrs!
WH Smith sell them not sure if they have the 2015 in
They dont alway re classify the roads after resurfacing ( know this due to someone hitting a bridge that he should have been able to get under all the signage said so bridge said so but he still hit it some of this is common knowledge up here )

Driver won’t be guilty of failing to comply with any red circle height restriction signs (always assuming the actual height of his trailer is under that shown on the signs). Ultimate responsibility rests with the driver though to slow down to safely negotiate tight spots and if necessary Get Out And Look.
I have an AA bridge height trucker’s map my little girl bought me. She put a plastic cover on it for me to keep it in good condition…which did work and stopped it falling to bits.
I noticed it was looking a bit raggy the other day, and the actual cover was coming off.
I looked at the original cover underneath my cover and it suddenlly dawned on me my little girl is now 30 …and the map is from 1996
Time for a new one I reckon, so I am watching this thread for the best advice.
I looked at one the other day. Unlike my old one, the bridge heights did not ‘jump out’ at you, mine has the heights set out as a bridge height road sign so they do stand out.

This post is useless without pics… Care to introduce us to this 30 year old lady??

You’re on very dodgy ground there bud
She’s STILL my little girl.

Mine has a green FM/FH on the front cover. Doesn’t say what year it is though!
First page says in small writing ; Third edition 2012
Second impression 2013
Anyway, here is a question.
Why is it not the law to carry an extendable height measuring stick with you for LGV drivers?
I use a height stick, but it’s a pain to keep in the cab it lives in the trailer, we have our own trailers but if I use someone else’s I always forget the stick, have enough trouble remembering to change rthe reg plate

Rob,re little girl?mine is 36! I know what you mean! With you on that one.
Cheers mate, I know he didn’t mean anything really but I’m protective as hell towards my 2 girls, as some previous guys from time to time, have found out in the past.
I remember one night I walked into a pub like John ■■■■ Wayne guns blazing looking for one particular little scrote however I did not bargain for his mates being around him… and then it suddenly struck me …I was no longer fit and 20 anymore.
I still faced it out and blagged it and (lucky for me ) he backed down…Thank Christ
Walked out the pub swaggering… but in reality ■■■■ ting myself
Anyway. Back to maps which one is best, I need one.
The 2016 Phillip’s ed is available from WH Smith’s. I pre ordered it but it has come in already. £16.99 (whsmith.co.uk/products/phili … 1849074049) you can have it delivered to a store for free. The truck is orange!

Yeh I’ve also got 2 big 6’lads, but I’ve always preferred sorting stuff myself.
My 96 map is also AA, the one with the mk1 Magnum on the front. Always found it helpful and clear.
I have always found Collins road maps to be the best, but afaik they have never done a bridge height/truckers map.
Rob mate, as you suggest I did not mean offend you, and I apologise if I did Just goes to show, different people have different buttons!
Conor grow up for ■■■■■ sake, you are quick to tell someone they are an idiot for not knowing a piece of the regulations, yet you are an incredibly delicate little flower when it comes to an agency man being called a scum of the earth limper… Chill out a bit, you might have a heart attack a bit later
