Trans haul in administration

malenki22:
your right Wheel Nut about the trading band but is all down to managing the bussines right but if the boss looking for more money to put in their own pockets then the bussines, thats when things go wrong, correctly me if I’m wrong but on another hand if someone will buy out the bussines then people who worked for them they have a chance to keep their jobs, if the bussines will be band for 10 years lets just say there is 100 workers on the street looking for job

But why should the bloke who has run the company into the ground or cut the rates to an unprofitable amount carry on to do it again to the others? The sub contractors will be put out of business and the 100 workers on the street will come from those successful suppliers further down the chain.

In some of the recent cases, the companies have been grown to such a size that they are unmanageable by the directors and management. It is much easier to find profitable work for 30 lorries than 300 and it is much easier to keep your eye on the ball with less equipment or deadwood

Like I said guys not sure on transport companies just saying like it is nowdays we can all have a argument, at the end of the day We are who pays all, recently how many people lost the jobs because bosses are greedy and they know the system and they will use, I know this will cose problems but nothing will change until gov will allow to use the term of “resecion” goin to company name of Ocado saying to emlpyees that there want be a payrise ect. but then going to a tv show and saying about the 10m they make a month, is stupid but gov allow them to do this and until this change it will stays as it is, now because I’m from Poland just look at our sittuation about 6 years ago, no money, jobs ect. and look at it now is the same here just because greedy bosses that’s all, but again only this happens because they can get away with it, if they know that if the had to pay the money back or hand up in prison do you reckon they will go bankrupt? no they will put the buts on and do the work insted of driving flash cars and paying as a penys. I think puting the bussines out of use for 10 years ect. will not solve the problem

Please not trying to rais argument

i hate these so called businessmen, they use the law to rip off their suppliers by setting up another company.
when i worked for myself, a large building company told me i couldn’t be paid as the company i did the work for had gone under.
“no mate, i did the deal with you” i told him.
he was very smug about the situation, well he was crying his eyes out when i finished with him.
it was good training for my lad, he was about six at the time. “see son, that’s why mummy can go shopping every day.”

Now advertising for drivers out of the Leighton Buzzard depot £490 per week

They have been advertising for a bit I went to an interveiw about 6 months ago for a class2 job (then i just wanted a job) .I got offered it there and then but money was pants so i said i would think about about 3 hours later i get a call do you want a class 1 job but he wanted to know there and then told him i would let him know and he got the right stress on started eeffin and jeffin so i told him so i didnt take it
But as i remember the bloke was a right merchant banker telling me that they take money off the drivers for damages to trucks and being late You had to pay your own parking tickets and if you parked in the services it was out of your pocket.

sounds like a good company to work for :unamused:

true lol

This stinks of MRS Distribution.

Company goes into administration and over night becomes JBT. Same bosses, same trucks, same depots, same work and I’m over £600 out of pocket along with everyone else that is due money. I really hope the company goes under if only so it wipes the smirk off Donald Carmichaels face.

This is what happens when undercutting rates persists for years and years. Nothing will ever change beacuse someone will always think they can do better than everyone else.

Operators licensing was introduced 40 years ago to ensure companies ran satisfactorily and it has proved time and again that it does not work. All the time you have a free market this will occur. Operators cannot wait to get hold of contracts and quote silly prices just to get work that does not even cover their costs. Why oh why do they do it?

A great story about the fall and rise of the Transport act 1947 to recent years.

If you dont mind me asking why did you walk as i turned a job down there a few months ago and another member was talking about an interveiw with them

It’s a ■■■■ joke. There are laws against ‘Phoenix Companies’ and at the same time these ‘pre-pack’ administrations. Anyone who goes bust should lose everything he has to pay his debts, that way people would throw in the towel at the start rather than when the debts have reached epic proportions. Bloody LTD companies stink, they should all operate under the same rules as a sole trader. If they think that’s too risky, they shouldn’t be in business.

I still don’t understand how the O licence works for one of these pre packed companies, surely if they are a different company they need a new O licence, and that can’t be done overnight not even for an interim licence.

If you read the Applications & Decisions on the VOSA web site you will often see new applications going in months ahead of the time that they are required.

VOSA are so slow to take action against these operators that they have their new discs in the windscreen and no ones the wiser.

Its much the same in the PSV industry, regular names appearing time after time.

It’s just how it is. Nothing will change any time soon, thats for sure.

O licences are a joke. We have a coach firm round here, who got in deep trouble with VOSA/TA, moved 2 miles into a different county, which comes under a different TA and started all over again. Same thing happened so he went 5 miles another way and into another district and set up again. When he got caught that time, he made out he was a different person with the same name, same business name and same coaches. His pieces of mobile junk are still on the road and when a local school stopped using them because they were downright dangerous he had the front page of the local rag, calling all the school governors racist.

I saw one of his coaches given an immediate prohibition during an MOT test for serious steering problems and told it couldn’t even be driven home, they just drove it out of the yard. It came back about a month later, still not repaired properly with thousands of kms on it. The station manager physically took the keys off the guy this time and got in a whole heap of trouble for doing it!

As they have quite obviously ■■■■■■ up large first time around why will they do any good given another go using the same staff & equipment doing the same work  I thought the Ministry Of Transport where there to protect us from such firms not re-grant them licences when they clearly should’nt be in transport

It ■■■■■

In most cases the TC will have decided (upon application to them )that the demise of the company was not due to any misadministration of the operators/owners and will indeed give them a new O licence as all the conditions and even premises will be the same. Its only a slight name change usually. Thats why it can be done sso quick.
