The slow all day way to load grain, Regards Larry.

my mates dad drove a c reg f7 sleeper /bulk body like that Larry i went with him when it was new.

Well this one was new to Sistersons Transport at Ridsdale on the A68, It was just over a year old when my mate Arthur Lowdon bought it, It had a lot of propshaft problems but he ran it a very long time & it ended up working on internal work at a grain drier somewhere on the Scotish Borders, Regards Larry.

was that gough’s original colour scheme dave . i ask because when i drove for hazel croft garage in the 70s and 80s their livery was identical , even down to having the hazelcroft. logo where goughs had the fleet number. i used to load a lot of anthracite all over s. wales including tower , but i don’ recall seeing any gouges down there . cheers , dave

Its surprising how many vehicles get propshaft judder even from new,it comes from the rear centre bearing being higher than the front one ,Erf suffered this and transits to name the ones I’ve seen ,a simple cure is space the rear bearing down on longer bolts to get the first 2shafts inline with each other and all 3 inline when loaded.

Some of their early lorries were grey Dave. I think they went to the brown colour because of ARC,not certain about that. More recent years they have been blue, but the newer Volvo’s are silver.
Cheers Dave.

At the time Gough’s had that Foden Dave, they were buying quite a few of their lorries second hand,so you have got it right about the history of that vehicle.
Cheers Dave.
