Ah think I see there taking tax off at 19% I thought basic was %20.
So but they don’t seem to take into account your national insurance plus your pension you have to pay into .
Unless stobbarts have an employee private pension scheme? It is 20%. But your first £12500 isn’t taxable. Add on NI contributions and yearly deductions will be about 19%
55 hours 19%
50 hours 18%
Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. However, the percentage numbers quoted are not the income tax rates - they are the total tax take (income tax + NI) expressed as a percentage of the gross pay.

Equivalent to £12.29 per hr gross pay■■?
I make it £11.12 per hr if you include the meal allowance, but as it’s not really part of your hourly rate I wouldn’t include it which would bring it down to £9.62 per hr.
I’d keep looking if I were you.
I’m still scratching my head as to why our line of work at supermarkets - is so unpopular…
If we did 50 hours Monday-Friday on nights for instance, I make it
5x10 hour shifts, 45 hours paid per week x £14ph = £630 before tax.
4x13 hour shifts (which I commonly do) Sunday, two midweek nights, and Saturday Afternoon = (12x18) + (24x14) + (12x15) = £732 which I’m quite happy with for four shifts per week…
plus I can take any time off I want from one week to the next…
btw - have we bumped into each other yet without me realizing it, 'cos I’ve not seen you on here for months?
By todays standards its awful money…BUT better than nowt as they say…you could get a lot more on benefits…with rent and council tax paid ( they dont pay mortgages only interest) if it was me i would rather work than shirk as you could get in a rut…so fair play to ya and i wish you well until something better comes along, and working will benefit you.

Sadly I’m no longer with them bud, BUT i will say this to anyone considering Stobbys, the depot I were at were absolutely brilliant, really really were indeed, and all my initial fears were soon proved wrong which for me is rare [emoji38]
As said in other places on here, all the staff from warehouse to drivers couldn’t have been kinder to me, only ■■■■■ for me were the commute, and as well aired on here my personal wobbles at the time.
Only negative towards company was one planner lol, and as a noob they really should allow two weeks solid mentoring as we ain’t all same, but that’s it.
Money, pfft on time, in full, no concerns and to me atleast was pretty much no difference from any other company I’ve seen advertising for general drivers at paye.
Other than that, I’d go back tomorrow, despite the ridicule [emoji38][emoji38]
Thats it, case closed now. [emoji38]
