FFS… This bloke or rather the search for him has appeared on my FB account. I will be having nightmares soon!! I guess its “GONE VIRAL” Are you sure its not a scam to sell the software. If it is the Marketing Dept have done a great job.
I have no sympathy - the mere thought of having a FB account gives me nightmares.
That said, I agree that if it IS a marketing ruse its a bloody good un!!
Unfortunately, it is a marketing ruse. The person in the photo has not stolen anything, and this has been confirmed to me by PM by the person who reported the phone stolen.

If that really is the endgame, has he/have they wasted police time, flouted any FB posting rules (if such things exist), or created the conditions necessary for a take-up tsunami of their software product?
I would imagine yes, yes, & no.
Blondie and the “victim” (if theyre not one and the same) could well end up getting a slap or three for their (his?) troubles, and a few folk out there may not be content to let the issue lie if they feel theyve been led a merry dance.

And to think, I never used to like soap operas…!!
+1
Yes I agree, people have been brilliant at helping another driver and possibly been duped. That’s not funny at all is it
Intriguing - the article does seem to have a promotional feel to it, but itll be very interesting to finally establish the real truth around this tale of mystery and imagination! If it **does** transpire to be a cynical dupe, the cops are sure to prosecute, as theyre putting resources into it that theyll not be happy to have wasted if it turns out to be much ado about nothing. Cant wait for the concluding episode!
edit - first word corrected (I hate misspelling things)
Waco:
Can’t see this been a marketing ruse, why would a company based in San Francisco be interested in using a guy from Gateshead to promote it’s products.
