Done my best all the time this saga has been running to try and stay positive about John, Flair Training. It’s clear it’s a publicity stunt. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that. I’ve done all sorts of stuff for publicity over the years; it’s part of running a business. For the cost of a CE course, John has got himself loads of publicity for a reasonable outlay. Good on him.
BUT, my views have today done a complete U turn. This thing about telling the candidate they cannot post when it was clearly one of the conditions is, to put it mildly, strange. At this stage I believe that John has lost any credibility he may have had which is a shame when he was clearly trying to gain some.
I don’t know what’s gone on/going on and I don’t want to provoke any arguments. I’m disappointed that what seemed at first sight to be a generous offer with good publicity has gone horribly sour.
Sadly, it’s put me off getting involved in making a similar offer - for the time being. Let’s see what happens with this and then I’ll decide whether the publicity is worth the cost - let alone the hassle!
Good luck to any who may or may not be taking tests this coming week.

Obviously I cannot control what Rubberducky can or can’t write on this or any board. I just though that with the negative posts that had started perhaps it would add extra pressure on the candidate to perform.
Maybe it would be better for him to write an overview of the course at the end particularly if there are any aspects he is not enjoying and may not want to say so with the course still on and me sat next to him all day.
As for the publicity I have never said this was done for any other reason and may consider offering it again if it proves to be successful.
The course starts on Tuesday with the test at Chelmsford on Friday afternoon.
I am sure I speak for everyone in wishing him the very best of luck for the week.
Regards
John

Yep. It goes without saying that we wish Ian the best of luck on his training and test.
May I too, wish ‘Rubberducky’ good luck for next week.

I think it’s shocking that with your track record of going ■■■■ up and leaving a lot of debt behind you that the owners of this forum still permit someone like you to post here in a commercial capacity.

Unfortunately he has not broken forum rules
As you know I’m new on this and I’ve been catching up on this situation and at first i thought you were all bullying him but now I agree with you that Flair Training should not be allowed to promote on this website especially with us noobs that could choose Flair for training. Saying that John has given sound advice all over this forum so although it doesn’t make up for the millions he got from his other business it does help a tiny little bit. But good look rubbyducky

Wheel NutWe have never met or spoken but you choose to call me a worm.
On Tuesday I deliver on a very genorous offer. 1 member is getting a CE course delivered by me for no personal gain.
I really dont care what people think about me. If he passes or fails. I will be telling Ian AKA rubberducky not to post on this site because it will be personal between us.
If he fails it will be because he made a mistake. If he passes because he didn’t. Either way between us we will have done our very best.
1983 is when I taught my 1st LGV person. 2011 is when I taught my latest.
Keep the faith

You have been training a long time John, it is a small world yet you are confident you have never met me?
Unfortunately your reputation precedes you and there are a lot of misleading posts on these two live threads. A simple answer to a simple question from Animal may have prevented this post growing into a train derailment
LGVTrainer:
I have trained people for nearly 30 yearsI have 2 local papers waiting to meet rubberducky and write a story. Essex is completely full of providers but nowhere near as good as us.
Keep the faith Pete, I know that nobody loves me.
Treat other people in life or on this board as you would want to be treated.
Love John
At best this is a cheap shot at advertising your own company on Trucknet, at worst, it follows your previous business involvement of twisting, turning shuffling and moving back and forth.
I wish rubberducky good luck, and I hope your conscience remains as clear as these threads
Good luck rubberducky please still post we all want to know how you get on with your training and test i for one hope you pass with flying colours

Depends what you set the criteria at & if you stick to that as we know Flair Training ( John ) has not I have asked more than once for him to answer but he has failed too
Why did he chose a candidate who had already had some training had his re test already booked
when there was clearly a candidate on here who had a 7.5t on grandfather rights & PM him as he asked but he was overlooked
So as I have said Flair Training should by what he said in the original have a Cat C course on offer
I understand LGVTrainer’s location is in Essex but the more of his posts that I read the more I am convinced he is actually in Lightwater.
Thanks for your best wishes everyone, im about to hit the road for my 3hour journey to chelmsford, i’ll let you all know how its going.
Good luck Ian i had to make the journey toChelmsford from leicester last week as i couldnt get a theory test anywhere near me for nearly 2 weeks!!
I wish you all the best Rubberduck, keep us posted how your getting on
Yes good luck mate , hope its good news come friday
cheers mike

Where is Lightwater and why do you think I’m there. Trust me Chelmsford is my place
To Animal: For the sake of clarity please ask the specific question again and I will reply. Sorry I didn’t reply to your satisfaction previously.
To Wheelnut: I’m sure if we had met you would mention it, unless of course you actually liked me at the time
To Almose-truckin: Millions? LOL I run one truck and teach on it myself. Please don’t believe everything because it’s in print. PS. Thanks for noticing the help I try to provide to all board members. You are one of the first to mention that.
To 44 Tonne Ton: Please be specific about my track record. Don’t quote the Daily Mirror. Quote your in depth personal knowledge. If you want I will yet again describe my track record.
Finally: To everyone that wishes Rubberducky good luck I will not let you or him down. I can’t guarantee a pass but I can guarantee he will be ready for it.
PPS: This site has a thread where people recommend trainers.Despite members having passed with us and telling the board, we don’t yet make the list. Perhaps I should have asked these people to join the board. flairtraining.co.uk/studentgallery.htm

Good luck - Rubberduck - hope you pass . Not every candidate will pass at first attempt and this is no reflection on the trainer . I would like to see a detailed log of what you are doing each day during training , what issues you have encountered , and what input you have received from the trainer . If your test is on Friday afternoon and you commence training to morrow Tuesday , you only have three and a half days training prior to your test . Once again good luck but also remember that by the law of averages you only have a 50 % chance of passing at first attempt .

No, trust me, you are in the middle of Lightwater. Well, not quite the middle but close enough.
