Aye, but you know how to do the domestic duties (washing, Ironing, vacuuming, gardening, etc etc etc)…us big misters can’t do to be bothering ourselves with such matters.
Sits back with tin helmet on and waits for incoming.

In other news, I’m learning…it’s her birthday tomorrow so yesterday I went to the card shop (it didn’t go well). “HOW MUCH :open_mouth: FOR A BLOODY BIRTHDAY CARD”■■? Eventually I compromised and ‘splashed the cash’…99p. It’s a very nice card and I feel sure she’ll appreciate to trouble I went to…maybe she’ll even cook me a meal again.

Hiya,
Just found an aisle in Poundland, where you can buy three quite presentable
greeting’s cards for a pound and they’re mixable so the wedding anniversary
birthday, and Christmas card problem is covered in one fell swoop and if you
can remember where you’ve stored them that’s job done for the year.
thanks harry, long retired.

I gave up buying birthday cards years ago due to the price ( when kids where younger actually bought some sweets for the same price so they could have them once a year     ) due to fact I am a cruel heatless mother

Hiya,
Hello Ang you tight little tinker     ■■■
thanks harry, long retired.

a little tale for your amusement . some time ago the council contractor fitted a radon pump to our bungalow as tests had shown the presence of radon gas . wired in to our domestic supply " only uses as much as a 60 watt bulb " said they . switched it on and the noise was like an industrial hoover right behind where i sit so i unplugged it . i worked it out and the annual bill to run it was over 30 pounds a year . last week i had a snotty letter from the council ( as expected )stating that they would hard wire it so that it couldn’t be turned off , in the interest of health and safety of course . i rang them and they started on about health and safety again so i explained that the noise was intolerable and that as i wear hearing aids which pick up the electrical noise from the motor it was giving me headaches and without them i couldn’t hold a conversation or hear the tv . still awaiting their reply . i’ve lived on this estate for 65 years and have had no ill effects yet . dave

Hiya,
Bureaucracy gone a bit crazy “Riggers” my old friend, tell them if this piece of
equipment is so important, tell them before even thinking about going about
the re-installation to make sure the cable is long enough to reach the council
electricity supply because you’re not paying to power their equiptment telling
them your an OAP and can’t afford the additional electricity.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hello Harry. Just read your post on the South Wales thread. Get well soon pal.
Also saw Dave the Renegades Tracy posting. That is good news for a change. Jim.

same goes for me harry , get well soon . bit of a bugger though , i don’t suppose you can have alcohol with antibiotics . dave

Hope you’re feeling better Mr Gill. If you’re still a bit “fragile” I’ve just the thing for you…Aultmore Speyside Malt…wait for it…62.5% :open_mouth:
daughter in law brought me another small bottle yesterday for fathers day. It’s the second time she’s done it, it’s only a small bottle but it’s “sipping whisky”, I shall attend to it this evening.
demijohn.co.uk/aultmore-7-ye … hisky-62-5

don’t torment poor old harry , usually when there’s antibiotics involved no alcohol allowed . i’m sure he’s taking notes for when he is better though . i’m in the same boat , all the medication i have to take i was warned no alcohol or the meds won’t work . what a boat to be in when my granddaughter and her partner both work in a brewery and get a free beer allowance , the son’s house is awash with the stuff and i can only have an occasional bottle . i must have done something bad in a previous life to be punished now . dave

It’s been very quiet since sunday , how are you now harry ? I hope the antibiotics have done their stuff and that you are feeling on the mend . dave

Hiya,
Well Riggers my old friend, yes I’m on the mend I’m nowhere near as well as I was but
hopeful things will improve, I’m at my local hospital tomorrow to find out if the tests
I’ve been having have told them anything, just hoping that at my age I will be given a
handful of pills given a pat on the head and sent home.
thanks harry, long retired.

It’s really not much fun getting older harry . i keep seeing things that need sorting out but i can’t do it these days . still waiting for the back operation and meanwhile mrs riggers has to go and get her cataracts done and checks for suspected glaucoma . i just wish the body was as agile as the mind as she’s always telling me to grow up . good to hear you are on the mend though , take good care of yourself owd lad and keep taking the tablets . dave

Howay “H” I’m glad to hear you are on the mend especially when you and Larry will be needed on the Border crossing of the A1 when Scotland gets it’s independence and queues start forming to get out of Scotland !! What better deterrent would there be of Larry and you stood there with your brush handle with gully taped to it repelling the Scottish hordes trying to emigrate down into the greatest country on Earth ( well it was at one time!).Seriously though “H” I sincerely hope that you return the rudest of rude and I’d give anything to be stood with you in the Brown Bear ( You know where  ) and you were buying the first pints (well I’ve got to be optimistic Eh! ) All the Best Kind Regards Dennis.
