Hello v7victor,
I do like that photo, excelent marra!! That Eddie Stobart Classic Atkinson ended up at a company called Annandale Transport from Scotland. They keept it in the Stobart Livery for many years but after they went bust in 2010, the lorry went to Malcolm Harrison Auctions Ltd, who painted it up in their blue and white livery, what a shame!! Don’t know the story of why Stobart’s sold it??
Regards

Hello everyone,
v7victor, I can help you out there, the man on the left of Edward is ‘Big Mac’ (don’t know his real name) who started at Stobart’s when they where still at Hesket Newmarket and he actually taught William Stobart how to drive a HGV. He left Stobarts only this year aged 65. On the left of Edward is good old Neville Jackson, who started at Stobart’s as a garage hand, and is now the ‘Chief Driver’ of Stobart Motorsport’s fleet of Scania’s working out of Dovenby, not bad, eh?
Kindest Regards

Hello JIMB047,
Is it right that the DAF 2800 was one of the last DAF 2800’s of the production line■■?

Hi ■■■■■■■■ Gill.I remember the Scania 113’s with tippers, but can’t remember what contract they were on.
As for D400THH Volvo FL7, I’m 99% sure this was based In Braunstone, Leicester (as they had a couple of FL7 Drag’s at that time) & driven by Stobarts first woman driver long before Edward acknowledged that he had a female driver. A blonde lady whos name I can’t remember…
They had a contract with British Steel/ Corus out of South Wales
I love the old Stobart livery especially their DAF’s the new livery is awful. They pull Carlsberg trailers now.
