Rob K:
:Excellent story :sunglasses: Think if you’re gonna submit it you need to break up the second paragraph in the appropriate places though :exclamation: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :grimacing:

Not intending to submit it anywhere Rob although I agree I could have split the second paragraph up a bit.

Err, what happened to The Great Strike of 2008■■

You have that god given talent of putting words together that
make people just beg for more , Neil hurry up with the next book
or two ,three or more, please mate, as for this post it was out of
this world , a piece of writing worthy of a Pulitzer Prize in my
honest opinion.I am still a selfish sod and hope that you take the
medical next week, please .I need my Coffeeeholic fix,

I had forgotten about this post, it’s a bit embarrassing, it needs redoing.

You have nothing to be ashamed of, many thanks to marcustandy for dredging this one up. I really enjoyed the read.

I can’t take the credit. It was linked-to in another post by Saxon786 here.

Saxon786:
I always enjoy a good read and you’ve certainly given me that on many occasions over the years.

My favourite piece of writing from you so far has to be this one.

Long may they continue. Thank you Neil!

Saxon786 has a scarily good memory, this is nearly 6 years old. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :stuck_out_tongue:

I realised I hadn’t got a copy of this on my computer, probably why I had forgotten about it, so I have copied the text and saved it with my other short stories, thanks for reminding me of it Saxon.

BUMP

brilliant

No need to guess what your gonna do if you don’t drive anymore.
If only half of that were true.

BTW, it’s Mercs that have the lane holding whatsit. There’s a camera in the windscreen which watches the white lines, if you get too close to either line without your indicators going, the computer bleeps at you.
They also have the adaptive cruise control.

Changer the computer bleep to the computer steering, adaptive cruise control and automatic gear changing, next you won’t need drivers at all :frowning:

@Simon the R&D dept of Mercedes has been doing trails
on that for a while over the BRENNER and else where , they have
a driver in Both trucks but the 2nd trucks Driver is there only if
a problem happens other wise it follows the 1st truck in front
This was written up and posted inone of the German trucking mags
more than 5years ago,So be-warned the future may just ■■?
ALSO not sure if they are going to do this but here in the
Rhur-Pott was talk of a automatic underground system
moving goods around trying to alleviate the heavy traffic problems ,
