Thanx for these John, that’s Roger Titley’s restored lorry in Dunning’s livery, as mentioned previously Roger has been an Owner Driver at Bayston Hill for many years, his Dad was originally Quarry Manager in the 70’s. Dunning & Co, originally owned Haughmond Quarry, Shrewsbury, and later were in partnership with Tarmac at Bayston Hill, they also ran many Concrete Plants in the Shropshire area…

Searching through a load of pics earlier, I happened across a Titley Volvo artic I took at Matlock back in '98.

This is probably not the only thing to do with Tarmac that stinks of horse sh1*t!

Few more from me:

This is at Renishaw works shortly before it went to Lafarge.

The next three were taken when I was at Dene quarry on a working day in 1997 stood near the weighbridge on a public path.
Apparently a few of the drivers had taken umbrage at me taking photos and had called the assistant quarry foreman to ‘sort me out’.
I explained my actions but it cut no ice. I had to give a roll of film over that contained some nice pics so the ones I have here are from just after he left me warning of calling the police. All this despite me taking an album of earlier photos to prove I wasn’t a wrong 'un!
(Funny thing were, I used to go on a saturday or sunday afternoon ‘out of hours’ and happily snapped away. Once encountered a security guard but after an explanation that he was happy with, I was given free reign!)

This was the old Waterswallows quarry in it’s latter days before closure. The site is now the main base of Dinky Lomas.

PS. Please ignore the ‘line’ running through the photos - It’s from my scanner and I haven’t a clue what’s up with it!

This one sneaks in due to the lorry to the side of the tanker.
Though I’m unsure if it’s a Reiver or an F7.

Three pics of my ugly mush and ‘friends’ during the summer 0f 96. First two at Cawder quarry (now a Sainsburys) and the third at Waterswallows.

This one is from Topley Pike taken in 1980 to highlight the rail loading facility. Note the Reivers in the background - At that stage there was still something like 30 odd based there.

Nice old S80 with long wheelbase.

This one makes it in as there’s an ergo cabbed tipper in the background to the right of the Routeman.
