I always got told it was a 30 min break after 6 hrs workI would say another way of putting it would be, 15 mins before 6 hours work and 30 mins total before 9 hours work.
Exactly, 15 minutes before exceeding 6 hours working time and a total of 30 minutes break if your working time is more than 6 hours but not more than 9 hours.
The 30 minutes can be split into two 15 minute breaks.
If your working time exceeds 9 hours you should have a total of 45 minutes break, but should not work more than 6 hours at any-time during the shift without a break of at-least 15 minutes.
The 45 minute break can be split into separate parts of no less than 15 minutes each.
If your working time exceeds 9 hours you don’t need to have a total of 30 minutes before reaching 9 hours working time.

You will need to do your dcpc straight away before you drive a class 2 though. Its the drivers responsibility to know the rules and regs. If your not sure just look them up on line.Vosa do a “guide” to rules and regs now which thay gave me on my dcpc.As far as I’m aware because OTTS had category C1 on his license by grandfather rights he has until 2014 to do the 35 hours of DCPC periodic training.
Yes this is correct. He held a C1 at 09/09/2009 - therefore only needs periodic training
HOWEVER - I met a driver today who has just paid a fixed penalty for no DCPC. I checked his licence and he had C1 for years but did just take his C test recently. He was pulled by Police and they issued a penalty because they say the fact he passed his C he needs the initial DCPC
We are now looking into fighting this but … he already paid the fine. And yes I saw the paperwork and it makes no sense to me
