in a bit of a wally, I pulled into the yard on Friday (13/5!) at about 16:30, I spoke to one of our casual drivers that I haven’t seen for a while and dropped all of my paperwork into the office, a little more chat and I wad on my way home, the eagle eyed will have twigged I didn’t withdraw my tacho card!
I’ve just got into work (20:00) and it looks like I’ve been doing other work for 51hours.
I did end place option and printed off Fridays work on my unit and underlined what time I finished for my weekly rest, my question is, is this enough and acceptable? I’ve given myself a well placed kick in the whatsits!!!
I’ve done the same beford and just printed out Fridays chart, did a manual entry for what time I finished on the Friday as you say and wrote a quick explanation on back of print out. Never got pulled by VOSA and my company will never say anything anyway so to me that is acceptable!
You need to do a printout for Friday and explain when the finish time was and then write an explanation and that it was the wrong mode from that time, 16:30, 16:45?, until midnight. and also explain that the end country was UK. I know you did it this evening but that will have recorded the end country at the time you did it, not Friday.
Then you need a printout for Saturday explaining that the mode should have been rest from 00:00 - 24:00. I know you did nothing that day but it has been recorded as other work on the card and VU and it will show up on a check so you need to explain it.
Next you need a printout for Sunday and write an explanation that it was the wrong mode from 00:00 to what ever time you started, 20:00? Hopefully when you got into work you set the begin country to UK, if you didn’t you need to write that on Sunday’s printout as well.
Keep those printouts with you until they are more than 28 days old and then hand them into the office. Personally I would do two printouts for each day, complete with necessary explanations, so you will still have copies when the office lose the ones you hand in. After 6 months you can bin those second printouts.
The replies you have received failed to note you said TACHO CARD.Just write on the back ,failed to remove card 0000-0000.job done. Now I always write on the front of the card st. when I start and fin0000 when I finish. It doesn’t bother the French so shouldn’t worry the muppets over here.No my error apologies!!! don’t do Digi.

I think you’ll find you are writing on the front of a chart, not a card.
