Swindon truck stop.Gone down hill

In my view it hasn’t gone downhill, it’s maintained the same standard from when it opened… crap !
How it has survived this long is beyond me, some must ok with crap service and attitudes.

Well I don’t really understand why the business model does not work other than the evil councils and supermarkets as they usually ruin good businesses in the UK. When you think about it the volume of clientele i.e. Lorry drivers going through the place must be tempting to the savvy business person? Charge a reasonable parking fee of say around £9 and put on decent grub at a medium price not cheap or expensive (all day night breakfasts etc.), 24 hours service with a smile and proper shower facilities with a paid attendant if necessary.

It works in camp sites and as a biker I go to the redbeck motel where I believe some lorries go in too. They seem to manage whilst providing good service 24/7

So I think the bad ones are taking the p1ss

If you think that Swindon’s gone downhill, try the Titan truckstop at Thurrock, what a [zb] hole. Truckstop? they have to be kidding!

+1

Now with less space, too. Got there at quarter to 8 a couple of weeks ago and took the last spot. The showers are horrible. Never cleaned. I drew a pen mark around some blood on the wall of a toilet cubicle and it was still there after three months.

If I can’t get down by the sea wall to use the factory facilities I’d rather wet-wipe it.

Is that Titan in Thurrock still open? I thought they shut it? Not that I was ever there.
