Desperate:
As with what others have said, he needs his C licence first. I got my D first but auto only I then did my C which also upgrades D to a full manual entitlement. What got me though, I could drive a double decker bus 15t gross but couldn’t drive a 7.5tonner :?
I was the same, I passed in a manual PCV though (Leyland Leopard with a ‘crash box’). Could drive bendy busses around Cheetham Hill and around London, but not a 7.5t when I was moving house
Pimpdaddy:
Stay away from supermarkets, especially tosco, aim higher ffs…
Work for “one of the others”. Gross just under £700 per week, in my own bed every night, 60 hrs off every other w/end. max. 40/42 hrs per week. 6 months full sick pay per year if needed. No pressure to be “there” at booking times, no speeding points,( unless i decide to hurry!) Yea, i must think about going back to being a “proper driver”,living in a tin can all week and waking up in smelling of ■■■■ lay byes, being week-ended away and not knowing when i’m going to finish, 'cause then i can call myself a “proper driver” again ! But, hey-ho, each to there own.

I’ve worked for I*****d for nearly 7 years, been at the Warrington depot in the warehouse since it opened and even I can’t get driving with them! Pestering the life out of 'em but I may have a foot in the door at last, possibly, maybe, hopefully…
I lasted 3 days
At the Warrington depot? When? What happened?
I was lucky to get in there on the FLT when it first opened, started on the agency and the agency boss used to be the freezer manager when it was Safeway and remembered me! He got me in there and talked to all the right people for me. Didn’t really get chance to thank him. used to be a good job before a certain company started managing it for them and squeezing the life out of the staff.

I was in there on agency and they mentioned they were recruiting, so I had an interview, got offered the place but explained I had some holidays and concerts due up, gave them a list of dates and times, and they said they’d work around them.
3 days later, 1 of my concerts was that night, trailer was delayed, route was a nightmare, so I spoke to the planner, explained I had a concert that night, that they’d been told about it at the interview etc, he told me to get going and he’ll sort it.
Anyway, later in the day, a few phone calls between me and the office, there was no way I’d complete the run, get back, fuel up, park up, get to Manchester before the concert, so after a few choice words it was decided I’d have to drop the last delivery, this didn’t go down well, back in yard, in office, some tall guy threatening to cut me a new one and was quickly told where he could place his job.
Shame really as I liked it, and the money was good, but I only work to pay for the ■■■■ I want to do outside of work.

If you contact agencies round my area and tell them you want supermarket work THEY bend down and lick YOUR boots.
Yes, but is that because it’s £7.33ph and on umbrella?
I know around here (sittingbourne) it’s probably easier to get employed by M’s direct (like as has been suggested at ADSA) than join a non-ADN agency and get some PAYE work there!

The tall guy, was he dark skinned with a shaved head or was it a white guy with short dark hair?

Judging by what people have posted about them on here over the last few months, I’dve thought supermarket drivers would be glad when another lorry driver spoke to them. Not so at ASDA Rushden on Saturday, I spoke to one of theirs, just a “morning mate” not any of the usual crap about chalking tyres or Stobart rumours, and he just blanked me, the miserable womans genital area.
Perhaps he was shocked I actually spoke to him? He didn’t look happy for someone who’s on £13 p/h anyway.
