Chrisann Trafford Park ? stopped there in the early 1970s. It was in the little red book, (from headlight?) with all the details of digs, which we all carried.
I was thinking that those digs were at Ardwick either the Green or Hyde Road?

A few from in and around Durham City Tyneside
Hi Tyneside
Thanks ffor adding photos of what I consider the finest City in the world, including one of our little FGs making its way down to Elvet Bridge. When I was 17 after passing my driving test and during School holidays I made my daily pilgrimage to Adams & Gibbon the Vauxhall Bedford agents in Claypath Durham which although changed use is on left on photo.
On one occasion I was in a new Land Rover truck cab on my way back just before where our FG is in your photo and an avalanche of snow fell from the roof of one of the buildings on the right on top of the cab and into the truck part.I heard this explosive bang but fortunately my wipers (pathetic as they were on LRs) cleared a bit so I could keep on moving & got back to Spennymoor.
When I pulled up I was greeted by laughter as the cabroof was caved in & a half ball shape on top at where my head was. It reminded me of the film ‘Big Foot and the Hendersons’ where when they put bigfoot in the car it sat up and pushed the roof up in the shape of its head.
We just pushed the roof and it went more or less back into shape. The benefits of the old Land Rovers was the odd knock or two gave character & no-one looked for perfection.
Once again I always love to see your photos
Carl

How true. When I collected my Defender 110 new from Park Lane Land Rover (also BMW dealers) in 1998 it was highly polished with painted tyres etc… It looked awful. Now, 25 years later and many dings and scratches, it looks just right!
