Many years ago when the mother-in-law passed away, we were told that she was being cremated at The Colwyn Bay Crematorium in Wales.
We drove over to Colwyn Bay and asked a policeman the way to the crematorium and he said, “just follow the signs for The Fireplace Centre”.
I have just checked on Google Earth and it looks like The Fireplace Centre which is next to the crematorium has expanded quite a lot.

It now looks like you can’t miss it, it’s opposite the household waste facility.

Upper Parliament Street NottinghamI’m pretty sure that cinema to the right is where Mum took me to see my first film - it was called ‘Smiley’ - in 1957. Love these Nottingham scenes from that period! Keep 'em coming.
Another one for you mate The Sherwood Rooms Colin Street later to changed to The Astoria [emoji106]
Now you come to mention it, I seem to remember in the '50s, a small cinema in Mansfield Road where it passes by Sherwood. It was a few doors up from the little Corporation bus garage on the left going out of town in the Arnold direction.
Here’s the original bus garage Rob
Here’s the old cinema on Mansfield Road opposite the Sherwood Manor pub
It’s now demolished and a new 24 hour gym now stands on the old site

A similar thing in Leeds - On Lupton Road, not far from the Traffic Commissioners at Harehills there was a Funeral Directors premises adjoining a dry-cleaning business. The cleaners had a tall brick chimney upon which was the word, in large letters, “SUPER-JET” pointing skywards. Approaching from York Road, it looked as though the chimney belonged to the Funeral company, perhaps offering an express service to Heaven. It might still be there.

BuzzerPaignton level crossing picture what is BHS900J? My first thoughts were Triumph 2000 right windows, but the boot is wrong then BMW 1600 but again wrong. It seems to have got louvres in the rear 1/4 (light) panel. Is it a Mercedes and the star is missing?
Hi Cav551 It’s a 1971 Simca 1501 and in front a Wolseley 1500.
Oily
Thanks to all who have suggested. All so similar: Audi C1 100, Mercedes 280, and Simca 1501. The Simca has got the louvres and the overriders.

I’m sure any French owner of a Simca 1501 in these times would be very pleased to read your lines, Oiltreader! Seeing that his very proletarian car could be mistaken with a Mercedes 280 or Audi 100…
