I have only been stopped once in my short time driving. It was my first time driving rigids on any continuous basis. Due to various things i had 4 or 5 infringements about taking breaks late. However i had the print outs etc told the copper about them and showed him the printouts. Once he had checked everything out and made sure all the records matched he was happy and let me go with some friendly advice and showed me how to change the tacho role as there was one i didn’t have a print out for as there wasn’t any paper in the tacho at the time. The company were a different kettle of fish and didn’t believe that i had been let go with a “warning”.
No. My situation was I ejected my card and went directly to my car, keeping the keys with me until the next day. Plus, we were paid the same regardless of whether we did 8 hours or 8 hours 15 minutes, so we weren’t “working” from the moment we ejected the card.
Furry mufff.
I think I was just feeling bitter having just been chewed out by an assessor for him seeing me only do a ME for the morning start, not the evening finish because as it happened I had pulled my card on the stroke of 17:00.
This assesor clearly doesn’t understand you can only do you ME at the start of your shift, you could have had some fun the next day asking him to show you how he does an ME at the end of a shift
I think you misunderstand. He was expecting to see an evening finish before the morning start, but while not accepting rest til now, I started the Rest in my ME immediately at 17:00.
My understanding was he wanted to see you do an ME at the end of your shift to show you starting your Rest, then another in the morning confirming the end of your rest
