Stobart assessment wed 11th ( casual driver)

do they need drivers in middlewich?

bradders:
Five hours waiting for a truck then a 13 or 15 hour shift, somehow that 460 quid a week doesn’t compute very well to that hourly rate.

Or you are actually on a very good wage for the hours you actually work

no mate i dont touch middlewich mate i am based at appleton but work on another contract i do 6-6 days so yeah it computes well enough for me and i know that there isnt that kind of waiting about at appleton cant speak for middlewich or corby chilled though

i suppose i will be a getting sent from appleton to middlewich if i get the casual driver job? but all will be revealed at my interview, if it dosent seem right i will be still on the search for work…if any 1 knows of any work around liverpool, wirral, deeside area,s let us no mortgage is killing me :frowning:

The Vosa are looking to see if drivers are using Breaks when on the bay instead of POA i assume, some drivers got done a year ago at Tesco Livingston doing breaks on the bay and got done.

  WHat where they done for? Sitting on their arse in the waiting room drinking coffee?

You can quite legally sit on a bay at Livingston on break - you will not get DONE!

As for starting then waiting for 3 hours for a truck…yes it may happen but you will get paid from your start time and therefore not expected to drive or work over any tacho or wtd rules - everything is legit!!! unlike people on here who just slag Stobarts of because they onece spoke to a driver in the services - YES! you know who you are.

Off to KFC now - Al si thi

got assessment at warrington appleton thorn,
any honest tips and any drivers rating of stobby’s, i think i will be working weekends pulling tesco’s due to xmas rush, was concerned about
if they try to pay you the same rate for weekend work,
i will ask in interview but just trying to get an insider scope on what to expect, this is my first post so hi all.

completed assesment…passed …had interview…got hired job done,
its only casual but better than nothink, assesment guy was sound, cheers for responses

Just joined this site.
Just a quick question, got a assessment at Appleton Thorne for a permanent tramping vacancy. Brefly been told what it consists of, written test, practical and interview.
Is it straight forward in the sense of pre day safety checks and safe driving style for the driving assessmnet and basics wtd (working time directive) tachos and road signs etc for the written test.
Been told to turn up in driving clothes. Got clean safety boots, hi-vis, gloves etc p.p.e.
Any tips and advice on the days assessment will be a BIG HELP
Thanks.

youngie 247. Check this link out. When you get to it scroll down to dustylfc,s post. it tells you all that you need to know about the interview procedure.

trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p … 16#p692709

ps. when you get in the cab, take off your Hi Viz jacket and hang it on the back of your seat. (they do not like it reflecting in the windscreen.(apparently).

Also, if the assessor asks you something that you do not fully understand, ask him to explain it to you.

Thanks for that, fingers crossed it goes well
