i came accross these ex stillers dafs in khartoum sudan a few years ago. Used to work in the garage years ago.
Have seen some of Stillers in Nissan last week sorry didnt get to speak with the driver
Just seen on the news where Stillers’ Newton Aycliffe site has gone up in flames today. I must say that the news came as no great surprise. They had COMAH registration for large-scale aerosol storage at the Darton site, and safety rules were flouted wholesale from the top management down on a daily basis. I hope that this explosion wasn’t caused by something similar. I just hope that there were no serious injuries. The potential for death and destruction with hundreds of thousands of aerosols is tremendous, there’s no room for slackness in that game.
I was employed by peter and son paul stiller for 39 years as a driver thru all aspects of haulage and spent 32 years on fuel tanker work. the aycliffe depot belonged to TDG before stillers.not Imp tankers.i was on a pay treble what some people are saying on this page.towards retirment and quite a few yearsbefore.
