i agree with what rob K says. he is the only bloke on this forum that speaks any sence, he was the first one to tell that grasser some home trues and you know which one i refere to, as for about half a dozen or so members, every time speeding is mentioned all they ever do is agree with the police or governing body quote(i haven’t got a problem with that) the problem you do have is you havent got a life and i surggest you mind your own buisness. it is up to the lorry or car driver if he/she wishes to speed and like Rob K said some of you are in the wrong job
ps i am on nights so going to bed so that is why i may not reply straight away
Davey Driver:
Personally I think Speeding offences for Truckdrivers should be dealt with by Vosa instead of the Police, as you say, it’s possible youve just had a lapse for that few seconds resulting in 4mph over the limit, but if Vosa Dealt with it, inspection of the Tacho Charts for that week would soon confirm if this was an habitual thing or just a one off
I personally think there should be a realistic margin/grey area between the speed limit and the point of prosecution, or atleast the point upon where points are given, which in my opinion are way over the top for this sort of offence anyway. I know ‘most’ speed cameras only clock you once you go above a certain speed, and ‘most’ police officers in vans do the same, but ‘most’ isn’t good enough, we are only humans and a few mph is hardly criminal activitity and I strongly believe that the law should allow for a margin, not so big as to in theory increase the speed limit but big enough to allow for slightly going over the limit which practically everyone does every day without really intending on doing. As we stand now its incredibly unfair, all it takes is one sadistic cop with a power fetish which I’m sure a lot of people in that line or work do have, and you’re done for speeding whilst there are others on a road a few miles away, going past another cop, faster than you and nothing happens to them. There needs to be concrete laws and laws that allow for human nature and don’t penalise irrelivent infringements.
