Hi everyone,i have permission of a friend malcolm to post up some photos he has given me,here are some of ely transport cardiff.

Hi bernard,
Those ERF’s of ELY transport look really smart with the silver colour, give your mate Malcom a big pat on the back for those, great pics bernard.
Cheers Dave.

Where did you get the pic of the Mercury? I have an original b&w as given to my Dad who drove this wagon from new. This was one of my Dads favourites. He often tells the story of going along the A5 laoded for GKN at Wellington, being “chased” by two Silver Roadways Foden 8 wheelers…couldnt catch him. When they pull into the cafe just after my dad they ask him what engine is in it as they are both empty.

The silver ERFs are from when the late Johnnie Greatrex restarted Ely in the 90s based in the Cardiff Docks.

hi john,
the 500 ec erf olympic was owned by g.a.joss from northern scotland.several pages back i posted a photo of it when kelsan first bought it,parked next to my a series erf.the red 52 reg. seen loading brand new cars outside my bodyshop is a 525hp which is a lively performer.sadly nobody runs ■■■■■■■ diesels in trucks anymore, our local dealer in cardiff closed several months ago.
regards andrew.

c.j. bird transport run a very smart modern fleet from coed ely.they run all over the uk and europe with anything from food packaging to jet fighter engines, recently they even had a truck delivering under water cable in teneriffe!

this special edition red fh13 was bought to celebrate c.j. birds 15th anniversary.

back in 1997 bird’s had their first new tractor unit.an old favourite of mine, the man roadhouse.

kbhs bulk haulage suffered a terrible blow when 1 year ago tonight, karen thomas who had founded kbhs with partner andrew, sadly karen passed away after a brief illness.this 143 scania was restored in karen’s memory.“simply the best”

Merry Christmas Andrew and everyone on the thread.
