Hi all. Daibootsy great photos as usual. The old brewery ones are superb.
That Rhymney Beers Thonycroft is of particular interest to me. I don’t remember truck number 1- JWO 602, but do remember later ones along with a 1963 TK 8137 KO with a 300 motor and a one off Ford D series FKG 100C and many Chinese six TKs with 381s and KMs with 466s.
I’m not sure where the JWO reg came from, but my father had a 1966 Morris Oxford JWO 4D, we called her John Williams old fourpence.
The phone number was Rhymney 212, my fathers business Rhymney 300. Andrew Buchan was the guy who started the brewery, taken over by Whitbread in the 70s iirc.
Great stuff Dai thanks for spending your time putting these on this superb thread.

Morning paul john,
The WO reg was one that came under the old monmouthshire allocation,if you ever noticed there was litterally hundreds of WO that the red & white buses were given,as i mentioned in the pm jwo 602was used in later days by Whaymans of pontypridd travelling showmen.
regards graham.
Hi Graham, thanks for the reply and pm.
Red & White buses, Bristol double deckers. As a kid used to catch one from Tredegar to Ebbw Vale to the leisure centre, slow going up Sirrowy hill.
That driver looks like he could be on his mobile phone Daibach !!! Great shots of the Gwynne Bowen Foden line up,where do you dig these fine shots up from ? Cheers Dennis.
