Hi everybody. I have just joined this website and find it very interesting. In the late 60’s to mid 70’s I worked for then then Shell-Mex and BP Group at its terminal at Queens Dock, Swansea. I have joined because I am searching for pictures of SM&BP tankers of that period - mainly Scammell - but the fleet had a variety of makes - AEC, ERF, LEYLAND. My dad drove for a company called Celtic Oil Supplies in Swansea. It was an authorised distributor for SM&BP. Does anybody know where I might find pictures of ANY SM&BP tankers of that period? Any help would be extremely grateful. Many thanks, MIke

Hi Mikael , i am replying to your request for Shell mex and BP photos , my father was a driver at Shell and BP Preston then moved in 1969-70 to Heysham in Lancashire , i have photos of the Various vehicles they operated , what type of road tanker did you have in mind ? , i have diffrent types of vehicles as well you know they would have been spirit and heavy fuel oil trailers. At Warwick universty BP Archives they have a huge cataloge of photos , you will have to contact them by email to access the archives , i have been a few times. i have made a few models in 1-50th scale of the vehicles my father drove for shell and BP and a fuel depot , if you go to my profile you should be able to access them. get in touch and i shall help you out. Tankerjack.

Any more info on the Wynns Pacific collection Andrew? I know Mike Lawrence restored it and still has it but does anyone know where and when he bought it?
Neil.
