Hi Smallcoal, yes Echo one- ccc did drive for Catnic.He was one of the best and we worked together for 20 yrs. I knew him for 35 yrs he was mad as a hatter, I loved him to bits. The other two drivers you can see on photo were Brian King standing up and Ronnie Hodges sitting in the cab of echo one’s Scania 82m ,two of the best blokes you could possibly meet. Best years of my life working with those guys, there were about 25 of us on a brilliant job. Sadly six have passed on now. Echo one is probably selling cb’s to everyone up there. hi roland is triple c still trading quite a few of my boys used to go up for cb s cheers martyn.

hi martyn, yes its still trading clint owns it now he revamped the shop its nice now type in tripleccc on google to go to the site if you see the white daf with blue curtains thats mine till sep the volvo is scrapped all the rigids are being replaced by new merc ridgids cheers john

the 07 plate volvo rigid you had with clarkes was on ebay last week,someone from the midlands was selling it with a kippered gearbox.

they told me to drive from stroud as they wont pay a tow they took it apart in oldbury clutch plate,bearings housing all destroyed beyond repair

I believe the beam in this picture was for the construction of the A465 Heads of the valleys road, my dads uncle [its his Bedford in the pic] used to transport them down from Tilbury.

JM Johnston was just the haulier, my dads uncle, it was the silver colour on these trucks that inspired my dad [also a JM Johnston] to have his Scania sprayed silver all those years later.
