Some 'proper' dafs

Well hello Bullit, Not sure if you went by that name back then. And to stand corrected on the details of that paperback book yes i must agree that it was not accurate and a little over the top, however the basics were correct and the places described certainly excisted as did some of the carechters, just not nesesarily in that order. For those that have never experianced doing what we did its a good read. But that you would know as you were there. I was there from Jan 93 till 96. Worked on Red, Blue, the Nomads, & the Tankers. Was on the Runs to Ramstein and flew to Africa.
Cheers JJ

JJ, you have an email / PM.

Just bought this photo off NA3T off the net , was hoping that the reg number was taken down wrong and it was a a 2500 not a 2100 , my old Daf was G153NRA Daf drawbar on the Habitat contract , this was G163NRA , it was not on our contract but may have been on another contract for a diffrent depot . It was pot luck and failed but hey it did make me think . :open_mouth:

thats a old united biscuits (mcvites) wagon and drag, based i think at gloucester ,before they were sent out to depots they came to our garage at ashby to be painted etc.my dad had g141nra from new which was a daf 95 310,there is a picture of it and a 2800 0n the daf 3300 thread.

Hi Andrew, hope you are keeping well mate! Here’s a couple of lold Bob Monks horse, remember her? (Is Bob still around do you know?) It was when they took all the General F7s off for re-furbishment & they did mine 1st, so I was cab-hopping for a few weeks, Bob had a couple of weeks off so I had this old girl while he was off. I refused to take it on a night out until they gave me a few hours to clean the cab out, as Bob didn’t go much on in-cab cleanliness did he, I think I threw a Jack Russell in the cab to clear all the rats out, & then spent a couple of hours with soap/water & Mr Sheen trying to make it habitable :unamused: Don’t know where I took the pic with the tautliner on, but the flat it was taken down in Abergwnfi, South Wales, do you remember we took the bagged PFA down there, what you prob’ don’t remember is that you roped/sheeted this load (nice job), I remember I ran in off a night out & you had loaded\sheeted it that morn’, I remember going into Cardiff Docks on the way back for a load of timber!
