Badger is working for a firm Dagenham way, and I think Chelsea finished before Christmas. Cruiser is still with us.Dunno about the new starts, I haven’t been in the yard to see any bugger
Hi sarge what do you mean haven’t been to the yard
I’m usually out all week, or back to the yard too late to see anyone
Oh
Obviously i wasn’t suited to the S&K way…spoke to them, sent in my application, checked they had it, and have never heard anything back!
How crap do i feel that i couldn’t even get a start with S&K!

Is cruiser , badger or chelsea still working there ?City Cruiser was still there a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know about the other two.

I met City Cruiser when we were with Murfitts. I know quite a few spent some time at Ewals after we all got laid off. I dunno if he was one of them or not, or if he was with MTC either. I last saw him 3 or 4 years ago, not long after he started at S&K.

Saw City Cruiser came out from Ferry in Dover on last Saturday - SK Haulage yellow Volvo with nice customs spotlight and bars etc plus saw his name plate on front grill - “City Cruiser”
Met up with an S &K driver a few years ago down in Spain cant remember his name, quite a large chap with not much hair.
he was telling me that he had a place near to Castillon /Spain real nice guy ,big in to his golfing .
is he still with you S&K boys.
He had moved over to Spain and from wot he told me he stayed away from home a few weeks then flew home.
If any you guys no him can you post his name, as its been driving me mad trying to think of his name .
thanks nick
This S & K must be doing something right, they are everywhere, i see loads of them heading East bound on the M4 for the ferries or tunnel.
Hi Nick I think you might be on about a driver named Austin. I was with s&k last year and im not sure if he is still there as I remember he was on about retirement. The sarge should put you right mate.

The way i see it, They got going and kept going by not being too fussed about image, and missed the odd maintenance check. But who hasn’t? It takes time, sweat, and tears to build up any business.
They look like they are turning a corner and going on the level.
and good luck to them.

Do S&k let you keep the unit at home I’m in merseyside just wouldn’t fancy the commute to Barry an back would eat chunks outa ya wages.

You wont be commuting on a daily basis, I doubt you’d be commuting even weekly, so it wouldn’t eat that big a chunk out of your wages.
As for parking your wagon on Merseyside, your best bet would be to ask S&K themselves.
Lets upset a few people… the only place half of s&k fleet of units and virtually all trailers should be parked is under the crane of a scrap metal yard.

For what reasons?
Ok so they aint new, but they are all in reasonable working order and legal.
Just because they don’t meet your standards for bling or just built shine is not a reason to scrap them. So justify your statement with real reasons.
can of worms open --------
well for my part I have only seen one parked up and being an 03 plate it looked a sight cleaner and straighter than a few of the wagons at my place which are oldest 57 plates, so not sure if it was a one off but thats my 2p

Didn’t upset me - got an 07, clean and tidy with 500,000k on the clock. Today I am mostly pulling a trailer that has been refurbed (think it’s an ex-Stobarts, but not sure), the curtains work, and the back doors work. Happy bunny
