, but £350 take home tramping is shocking
[/quote]
if that is the case
What are you going on ,uk, belgium or long haul?
Don’t know about the take home 350 I never took less than 430 a week but I was on long haul and some belgium work when fancied a big ■■■■ up at weekend
my take home was about £430 as well. 2 belgiums a week, quite easy really.
sounds like he was trying to put me off, £430 is better i could handle that, yea i should be doin belgium and hopefully long haul

you say £430 a week, but that’s not exactly hard pushed, not really a full weeks work. so i reckon you could have earned half as much again if you pushed on a bit, and of course if you wasn’t messed about too much when tipping/loading.
it sounds like the type of firm that lets you go at your own pace.
Adam , youl be fine, just do your job, dont get drawn into the negative stuff, if theres more jobs i might join you after xmas.
have you worked there previously then
yes . i worked for them . left about 18 months ago, was ok, never really pushed. Been thinking of going back, well see. My old man worked for them years ago as well. Trucks were ok, 04 volvo, Most of the guys were ok, Sometimes you think your phones broke , cos no ones pushing you. .
you will find arse holes on every job always slagging the firm off,
ask them the question ,
if it’s that bad what the [zb]are you still doing working there.
good luck with your new job.
Better, the devil you know. as they say/.

You won’t find anyone on the uk side at s&k who says they like it before I went for a job there I heard all the stories about them but the only 2 I found to be true was 1 money was low and 2 neil kidby has a split personality nice as pie then BANG he sacks someone for some strange no apparent reason. You have been offered the job doing euro like you wanted too do so my advice is give it ago and decide yourself what the company is like. The euro lads are a good bunch and a few of them have been there 15 yrs plus. Shane the badger an steve aka city cruiser will help you out with anything you need on the euroside of things, gareth in the office is spot on and so is david the oldest son. A lot of the drivers will tell you not to listen to a lad called paul ferrari because he’s a prick but I honestly thought he was a nice lad and he got me home whenever I asked just parked truck outside my house for the weekend. Goodluck you never know you might love it or absolutely hate it but atleast you can turn around and say you tried it yourself instead of going of what others have said
Spot on there couldn’t agree more, try it if you don’t like move on.
I do UK only, and I like it I live in Barry so getting home is easier than for many, but there are a few of us UK guys that like it. Yes, we all moan - but Hells Bells, we’re lorry drivers! We’re supposed to moan
Won’t be in on Monday, but hope to see you around the yard. Good luck, keep your nut down, get on with the job and see what you think of it
Well good luck with the euro side of it anyway, i tend to see S&K lads at dover and over the water, so might see you about
Stomach the money, get the experience, especially the Swiss pallaver and you’ll be able to broaden your horizons then !
All the best and enjoy

Hi, Adam, how was your first week with s&k?
Not bad mate
It’s as you and fozzie says so thanks for the replies I will be goin back in Jan
One thing I would outline from the info you give me is that anyone who goes there and gets the job stay out of the negative gaffer slaggin job slaggin ■■■■ and don’t read to much into people’s negative comments on here make your own mind
Hope to see you all about
Spot on, mate See you in January - keep your nut down, get the job done and you’ll be fine - no worries…
Good , im glad it worked out, im trying to get a start back there myself , did speak to neil but he said andy donnelly would phone me. Might call down there tomorrow. Did all the vacancies go?
Always looking to take on - someone will be in tomorrow, but don’t know if Andy will be there. Give 'em a bell, unless you’re in Barry.
