Skip wagons

Did a day on agency driving this one.

T801JBJ last seen about 2 years with either a lot of bodywork or new cab. 310 engine pretty hard going and rough as a very rusty nail, took it to Lilie Bridge LUL depot with 2x 12yd skips for a wait and load. I let them fill the skips to about 2-3 ft high with bits of rail line. Back at Boreham and it weighed in at 37t, oddly enough it didn’t seem any worse than when I took it out in the morning loaded to 32t with lead.

This was my first drop with it, just placed the empty in the bund and was going to get the full one and load it on, grabbed the door handle and it came off in my hand

This was my other truck at the same place, I’d be hopping between the two throughout the day sometimes.

One of Geo.Blacketts from Brunswick Newcastle upon Tyne, Regards Larry.

Orgreave tip

Here’s a couple of Alex Smiles of Sunderland, the Cargo skip truck was shot in 1995, the Merc skip truck in 1999, the Ford Eurotrakker in 1999 and the Volvo and Merc roll on/roll off shot in 2005. regards prattman.
