Side under run bars

I am quite sure that seatbelts save lives, but I hate them with a passion, always have, and so never effectively wear one. I always have a clip to keep it slack but enough to be legal.

I believe I drive safer as a result. I don’t believe half the loonies on the road would take such risks if they weren’t strapped in with the sense of security it gives them to drive as they do.

If you’re injured in an accident and it’s found you’ve tampered with the seat belt, or weren’t wearing it all.

You can guess what the insurers will say can’t you.

I cannot see the point of those little 3 foot long ones on sliding skelly trailers, OK when the trailer is shortened up, like when on a bay with a 20’ foot box, but stretched with a 40’ or two 20’s and they seem absolutely pointless.

They’re relatively new on skeles. Skeles didn’t have them in the early 2000s

We have a couple of older drivers who do a similar thing. Us young uns have grown up with seatbelts so it’s second nature to us to put them on as soon as we climb in the vehicle.

As I’ve said before my life, my choice, and it depends what you mean by tampering. Having a clip which prevents it being bar tight across my chest may or may not come under that heading. Having reached this grand age, not high on my list of worries.
