I’ve been reading the wrong forum !!! A guy on pre mod , who has been missing for ages is telling us how to run the placeI’m making notes and writing it all down… I’m not even asking in the Mods forum, this guys nailed it…
And what is the reason why that guy is on pre-mod and has been MIA, MikeC? Could it perhaps be because we are witnessing a huge case of déjà vu here? 
5 years ago the forums were like a school yard with numerous members running riot, setting up fake Facebook accounts in other people’s names and generally posting nothing of any value to the site. It was brought to the management’s attention by several members and absolutely nothing changed. I wrote a post highlighting the problems saying what - imo - needed to change and questioned whether certain members of the admin/mod were fit for their role then bang, instantly suspended for daring to speak out against The Establishment. 
Did suspending and pre-modding certain members solve the problems? No, it did not, because those people were not the underlying source of the problems and it just happened to be convenient to silence them for daring to highlight some uncomfortable home truths. Meanwhile, the true troublemakers continued unabated for 5 years, turning the entire site into one massive cesspit until it reached breaking poing in February 2018 and well, here we are again. The exact same thing has happened and once again I and other members have called out the admin/mods failings.
I’m sure if I wasn’t on pre-mod already you have made it your duty (as you did in 2013) to ensure that I was for once again daring to speak out against The Establishment and “telling us how to run the place”. And I’m glad to see that you’re “making notes and writing it all down” because I don’t think there’s any question that the forum content overall has improved noticeably since the admins took comments and suggestions on board and made changes to remove the sources of the Facebook trash that was ruining the enjoyment of the site.
Is there still some work to be done? Yes. Yes there is. There are still one or two members whom like to pull out the ‘victim’ card at any opportunity that need reining in but I don’t think there’s any question that the site has improved since February. If that has come about partly because of other members “telling us how to run the place” then I’m happy to take your cheap jibes Mike. I have one or two of my own but it looks like your signature already has them covered.
