It depends if compliance is YOUR job or not. If it is, then crack on and tell the gaffer. If it isn’t, then leave it alone, then person responsible for it, will tell the gaffer. Don’t worry about it.Your right compliance is not my job, I’ll stay out of it.
Although I’m not a fan of squeeling on another driver in this instance this driver has put you in an awkward position, I would just ask my boss to take a closer look and leave it at that. Could even just say that you think the software is dodgy and might need updating as its showing a driver using 2 cards and walk away. Let the office folk sort it out and make sure your arse is well covered.

NO your job was to download the data which you did…job done !! it is someone elses job to report and discipline where necessary…He/She who checks the data will find out if the driver was in the wrong, he got back safe, no accidents or incidents and hopefully had a very nice xmas.

Would it not be easier to talk to the Driver, then He’s got the chance to go to the boss himself, or at least he’ll have a heads up on the fact that his actions, if there is no legal explanation, will be catching up with him.
He might have been doubled manned due to the time off year, ask the driver, and save yourself looking a ■■■.

I dont think he would look like a ■■■ if he told the boss. A grass/squealer etc yes,but a ■■■? No. I only meant if said driver is running with two cards and DOES get caught then its hardly “poor driver” time. If hes running bent he knows the risks. But its his risk as long as he knows when to stop if tired rather than pushing it for 18/19 hrs a day. I wouldnt tell anyone and would just plead ignorance if asked if id noticed. But I wouldnt feel sorry for him if caught and sacked

Yet were I’ve highlighted you imply, that you yourself wouldn’t say anything to the boss, which as it happens is My view too. I feel a word to said driver, gives him the heads up, but say nothing to the boss, deny all knowledge if asked.

I would have thought a boss with half an eye on the ball would know already. Surely he will half an idea of the times expected to do the journey and if they are a lot shorter he will have an idea why.
If i get a Lift from London to Austria i could actually drive as well if thems Company says OK to it. When he comes back you would see two different Cards being used.

So it turns out the boss was onto this particulars drivers antics hence him asking me to download the units data so he could look at it asap.
Get a call whilst driving back from Paris today, driver was using two cards, both his own - one in each slot and driving as double manned !!!
How does he get to use 2 cards?,
You would have to report one lost to get another, then the new one has a different number on it replacing the old one,
If you put the old one back in the VU, it would show up as an old card??
