The first one had just come out of the paint shop in 1959, the bottom photo is one of theirs in the dark blue livery on contract to Cary Springs.
Does anyone know what lorries they were running when they went out of business in 1974, as I lost track of them when they moved from West Gorton to Stalybridge in 1967.
Can anybody remember a removal company called Richard Rhodes and sons who operated from a yard just off Oldham Road, Miles Platting in the 60’s and 70’s. I know that there is a photo out there somewhere in Cyberspace but I am having trouble trying to find it.
Also, a member of a genealogy forum that I am a member of is trying to find out any information about a garage on Ashton Road, Oldham who sold or repaired American cars in the 70’s and thinks that the owner may of been a Jimmy Cunliffe or Cunningham.

Steve,
I bought an Eldorada American car from a large garage that sold a lot of American cars from a site almost next door to Park Cakes in Oldham,if that helps?!
Hiya Paul, I know that you have mentioned before that Jack Kershaw took this photo but I have been meaning to ask you for years now was this one of his dads wagons ? The reason that I ask is because an old mate of mine who was a driver called Jack Halliwell lived in one of those houses in the back ground on Hillside Drive back in 1965. You wouldn’t want to park that on Hillside Drive without a couple of bricks underneath the wheels.
One or two here to bring this back to the front (Photos compliments of Tipit via archives)

This here is a photo of the last lorry my Dad drove for Thomas Lamb (Haulage Contractor) Ltd Gorton it was a Dodge D308 series reg EBA543C which he got new in 1965 and this photo would have been taken after he left the firm around 1967/8.They started to sell the vehicles to the drivers by then but my Dad didn’t take up the offer and went onto pastures new with another local company.Notice they had started to remove the company name from the doors.
