Hello all Im leaving today to deliver in Rome on Monday Is anyone aware of any Secure Parking with-in an hour or so of Rome.
I will be there Friday night Sat morning depending on how much effort i put in.
Any other good places on route will also be welcome as im bored of the run down Macon now.

Plenty of services on the Autostrada just outside Rome. I stayed once or twice.
Can’t remember the name of the place but about 30 minutes before Rome there is a parking area just off the A1, not secure but I don’t think there is any secure parking down there, it is secure in the sense that quite a few trucks park there over the weekend.
There is a restaurant that is open on the Saturday evening, good food. One of the other restaurants opens on the Sunday. There is also a supermarket open on the Saturday for supplies.
There is usually a couple of British drivers down there for the weekend also you will find Dutch drivers but they park up outside an hotel a bit further in the town.
It’s a great drive down there, plenty of scenery and don’t be tempted to over take in the mountains, pollizia nearly always on patrol.
If you keep looking to the left when you get about an hour to Rome you will see the lorry park and restaurant.

Orte on the junction called Orte of the A1, 2 great restaurants there, I don’t know if the ■■■■■■ is still alive but the food and drinks where always cheap and cheerfull.
Never had any problems there
There are in Orte 2 very good restaurants, forgotten the name but it will come back

orte was one ov my regular stops i never had any problems there great food good people.
hi mate… orte is the place for you we use it regular no probs… come through peage and you’ll see big resto on your left [supermarket there resto ok but parking full of plastic russians ]… go straight across and up little road, road goes round to the right . parking 300m up on both sides by hotel…have a good weekend all theresto’s are driver friendly showers etc… cheers
