Quite unusual those Mark 2 rigids with sleepers. Look good though.I used to deal with Vic Haines back in the 70s, is he still going?
Yes, saw one his lorries a while ago on the A40.

Is the Millmove Iveco an ex-Gibbs of Fraserborough?.
I wonder where the Leyland management stopped when away on business if this was a penthouse ,maybe the ■■■■■ strings were tighter than first thought Note AECs were never offered with this cab

Hiya …i think that Bostocks atki is dumped in the stoke area less the engine and body. a pal of mine
was going to have the cab for a restoration.
John
That seems rather sad, after all the years it was cherished by Mr. Bostock
Can anyone say who the 2x B series with boxvan trailers in the background belong to? Rings a vague bell…

Our old time drivers (sorry, long serving employees) were really fond of them too; Great for quarry and landfill work. The last one we had ended up in use as a dumper moving stock around a stone quarry. While taking dust onto the landfill for use as tip cover it tore the back axle off

Illuminated name board on the roof, sun visor and wheel trims are subtle touches but make all the difference.
As you say “a purposeful looking motor”

It was bought for restoration, and I’ve seen photos of it coming back together again. If I remember rightly, it’s in East Anglia. It had been new to Clarington Coach & Haulage in Wigan
