1970 show. Crusader 42 tonner with AEC V8 engine.

Hi again,good stuff Phil :wink: Heres todays pics,the first is a good’un,taken in Marlborough High street A4,before the M4 was built.My pal Adrian Cypher said after taking the picture the Leyland lurched right over and smoke poured from the rear tyres as they made contact with the mudguards :smiley: …those were the days!!

W. H Williams Spennymoor a photo of another Bedford petrol SM of 1953 this time bodywork by Spurlings. Who had exibited a 5 ton O type of ours in 1948 Commercial Motor Show. The third 1953 SB we ran (unfortunatly have no photo) was by Marsden of Warrington and as to start a relationship until 1982 when they exibited our last new Bedford at their stand in the Commercial Motor Show

Marc the Mike Lawrence junior contractor was new to T.W.Wards of Sheffield and R.Crisp had it later so it as been through a few owners as I can recall it in somebody elses livery but I can’t recall who.

Phil,you are correct,LTD was Lancashire Tar Distillers with sites at Preston and Cadishead on the A57 west of Manchester.
Nice photo of a company I remember well in the 60s and 70s. :sunglasses:

I forgot about their place at Litherland Malc,used to take wet acetone in from Glaxo at Ulverston,the place was falling apart like the one at Cadishead.When was that photo taken,any idea?
